How much scripture do you read daily? I know some read more than others but I would like to get a general idea of how much people read.

I'm ashamed to say not as much as I should. I could come up with all kinds of excuses but there truly is NO excuse for not getting into Gods word. after all as a Christian it is the food by which we Christians live.

I read as much as I can, usually a chapter or so but reading is very difficult for me. I know that as I keep at it, it will become much easier and what better way to learn to read better than to do so while growing in the knowledge of God?

I actually read about 3-4, but you did not have that one, so I put 2-3.
I always have something to do, but I read as much as I can.
God Bless,
Bel
Sunday through Friday I read a minimum of four chapters each day. Depending on the demands of the day I will read more. On Saturdays I read only one chapter the whole day. But that chapter, which ever it may be, will be read numerous times throughout the day.
Those are devotional studies. There are also other studies that are conducted that are not part of my devotional studies. Memorization studies and exhaustive studies, word studies, and other miscellaneous studies as time permits.

I read at least one...one to two...sometimes I don't though...like once a week I won't b/c I get sooooo caught up in whatever I'm doing that day. But like whoever said, no excuse!
I will now quote only the best sunday school song ever for motions!
"read your Bible, pray everyday, pray everyday, pray everyday! Read your Bible, pray everyday and you'll grow Grow GROW!!!(start getting taller, yes!)"
or....the bad part...
"Neglect your Bible, forget to pray, forget to pray, forget to pray. Neglect your Bible, forget to pray and you'll SHRINK, Shrink, shrink!!!(start squishing into the teeniest tiniest ball ever!!)

Hi OneJoe,
I have come to learn that it's not so much how much scripture you read daily but rather how much of it the Holy spirit of God reveals to you that matters.
(1John 2:20)
But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

I'll read as much as I can, but when I read I try to re-read it a couple of times. If a certain scripture comes out at me, I'll meditate on it for awhile, then continue reading. When I start reading again I re-read what I read before again. I always go over the same books until what I need to know becomes instilled in me. Which usually takes awhile with me! :-)

I read 1 or 2 chapters to my daughter before school each day. Then get into a daily 1 hour reading with a great teacher. We do our best to get in at least 144 minutes everyday.

Hi, I am new here. I read the Bible until I run across a verse that I would like to understand more fully. Then I research that one verse by using the references of the verse that denote a particular word. I find it most rewarding personally. I have posted two of my research Gen 6:6 on the word "repented" and Mt 25:52 & 53 on the wohrds "Many" and "Slept" I found you can repent Good, as well as to repent Evil. That was a new thing to me. In Mt25, it seems to me that I found out that JESUS emptied out Hell, in two stages: one when he died and again when he was resurrected. I never heard a minister tell me that! But I have ridiculed because of going where the references led me. So was JESUS for that matter, First. I am in company! Researching, I believe, is an acquired skill, especially to stay focus, cause God's word has so much truth in them that it is easy to go after another while looking for the first. I also believe God's treasure is not just found on the surface, but with much digging, if your spirit is so moved.
I have also found that some can make the word of God fit what they themselves say and others will agree. Even tho God has instucted us all, after hearing to search it out for ourseves. Just cause one verse might seem to be verifling the other...the two are really talking about two different spiritual aspects. But even with the references, it is hard to change a traditional teaching. I didn't understand this until I saw it happen. When I ask why they didn't use the references placed in the Bible for guidance...they were said to meaningless. I was a little taken back. I would suppose in reality the person didn't know how to put the references to use, so they were useless to them.
I know we all are at different levels of spiritual growth and I am not ashame to say I am a meat eater....mature in Christ...and attempting to move on to perfection truly my studying. I had to learn to be more like JESUS in this regards, just state the word by the word, and let it take root.
I also believe there are many truths of God found it a verse but none will contridict the other, but only add to a more fuller spiritual understanding. But when I get goose bumps that is, to me, God's sign that I got it! And when I got it I never let it go again.
I am looking for a place where the research is done on the scripture in guestion and then discussion is make, instead of the other way around. And tho God never changes, man must.
Hope I didn't talk to much..smiling.
