Music (Godly vs. Ungodly) help!!!

I am Rachel (for those of you who don't know- my fault)

Well, I was listening to Skillet and Casting Crowns today and I thought about young people. Some of us think that it is okay to listen to ungodly music and still go to heaven. The other half of us don't. I personally don't listen to anything other than christian music but some think that as long as it is "clean" and doesn't have curse word in it it is ok to listen to. What do you guys think about this stuff? Is un- christian music okay to listen to? What are your beliefs? What are your thoughts?:-)

two of my friends r the biggest christian i have ever seen i mean when i accidently take a step out of line i get slapped like painfully but one of them likes to dance so i think its ok to listen to nonchristian music i mean i know a lot of people dont like country but a lot of those songs r about god but not called christian music so ya i think it is ok

I think as teens and christians we instead of listening to the beat shud listen to the lyrics. If the lyrics are pure, and doesnt go against Gods Word in any way then it is ok to listen to. eg In The Ghetto by Elvis Presley, is a really nice song but wouldnt fall under the 'christian' category.

I think any music that is not Christian has a bad influence on people. I used to listen to non-Christian music bt i realised that it had a negative effect on me and my relationship with God so i stopped.

rap music and some other kinds of music encourage crime, fornication, love of money and earthly possessions, etc. For me, listening to such music , drew me away from God i think because of what the music stands for. please give me an example of good songs that are not Christian.

I guess people r different and see things differently bt as for me, i try nt to listen to non-Christian music especially rap for reasons mentioned earlier

Well... I didnt used to listen to much Cristian music much but now that have started i luv it! I used to listen to alot of country music. I think its ok to listen to other music if it doesnt say anything bad in it. But now, personally, Cristian music is my fav:af
