I was reading a poll with regards to Harry Potter books and Christians, and noticed some discussion with regards to The Chronicles of Narnia Series by C.S. Lewis.
This poll is specific to the Chronicles of Narnia, as the new movie is due to hit theatres in a month's time (Prince Caspian).
Do you feel that Christians should read/watch The Chronicles of Narnia?
Please post additional comments about this. I am undecided, because of the allegory and Christian values that C.S.Lewis believed and his regular study of the bible. I realize that doesn't mean the book/movie is good or bad because it was written by a man that was a Christian. I am saying... that should we as Christians watch and read these books.
Now, having said that, I prefer the bible myself. But, if I am going to watch a movie (on the rare occasion) I would like it to be something that is glorifying God, respectful to Jesus, and appropriate for the child in my home.
This series being an allegory (or like a parable) of the bible... is it appropriate... or not, in your opinion, for Christians to read/watch it.
Thank you.
