So, my family isn't really religious - my parents were baptized and confirmed and everything, but they never pray, hardly go to church, and don't really practice at all. Aaand I have a strange feeling that they have a problem with my "degree of devotion" as they put it, to the Lord.
Help?
Thanks.
Ivy, wow, it must be a hard situation to know that your parents don't seem to fully support you. Just keep strong in the Lord, and don't give up. When i frist read what you said, it seemd like they may be basing thier Christianity off of works becuase of the fact that they were baptized etc, but dont follow what God says. Pray for them :)
and keep your degree of devotion strong!!
God bless and thanks for sharing!

Amen blessy!!!
Ivy just as blessed said i can't imagine how hard that would be! Although you do need to honor your father and mother, what God thinks is more important than what they think of your relationship with Jesus! Don't back down because they see it as "overdoing it" but stay strong! Show your parents Christ in the way that you carry out your duties and how you respond to others! :) Also read your Bible! Pray lots! And stay strong!!! God will help you if you ask him!!!
God bless you!!!

hey lil here. I want to say, great for you. Don't back down. This is a teast from God. Stand strong. I could suggest to sjow your parents what you are and what God is. Take baby steps. Maybe, pray over the table, and you say it. If they do not want to do it. Before you eat, you pray to yourself. Urge them to pray at every meal. Then go a little farther. They do not understand. If you look at my story I wrote right before here, I didn't know. I thought I did, I went some steps and thought I was a child of God. But, hearts are not ready all the time when you are not following God. So, help to understand. Bring people who could help them more than you can, if in your power, you cannot do much. Pray. Ask God to give you what you need at the right time. I now the things I am telling you are not the funnest, but you will do it if this Spiritual relationship btween your family matters to you. So, ask God, he knows the plans for you, not us. and we do not always know the medicine, God does. Thank you for asking though. At point or another, we all get lost, confused, or had some smart cells knocked out of our head. so, keep marching until you are marching on clouds.
