It always gets better

My Dad is a pastor, and everyone loves him. I love him too, even after all the abuse. Even though my family was there to support me, I fell away and was almost lost. I had a deep phobia of leaving my home, or even my room. One day I realized all I had to do was ask my Heavenly Father for help to stop my distructive behavior. Boy! did He ever help!!!! I had the desire to read in my Bible, and after two years I decided I was finally ready to be baptised. Now, two years later, I'm close to finishing school and ready to get on with my life, I even drive myself where I need to go!!! Without my Heavenly Father I would still be hiding in my room, and unable to even stand in line to get groceries. I want anyone who is going through rough times that it will always get better!!!!!

Praise God for His change in you!! It is not easy being a young person these days with all the temptations out in the world although there have always been temptations but I think it is worse now for young people than when I was growing up. I remember when my father deserted our family I did not want to leave my house or go to school - it was a very difficult time but God brought me through as he has done for you also. We have a great God!! :-D Sounds like you are back on track! Even those of us who are in Christ forget sometimes to ask Him for help and draw on His strength. We try to deal with everything ourselves first before asking Him for His help. I know this is something I fight with. Keep reading His word and pray daily and God will help you overcome whatever might confront you in the future.

Phillipians 4 verse 4 -7

"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God. And the peace and understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
