What or who gave you the idea you could forgive your own sins? Aren't we told to cast our burdens on the Lord? What gave you the idea you could "accept" God's forgiveness? If God is going to forgive you and save you, what makes you think your involved in the saving process? If God is going to save you according to his will, can you stop him? Perhaps you should just read God's word and leave the rest up to God.

How about
Your sin is paid for. - John 3:16 for God so loved the world...
And God has known you since forever -And Psalm 139 read All of it
That Jesus willingly and with authority gave His live and took it up againg - See JOHN 10
That God knews you have sinned - Romans 6:23 - but he has offered you the gifyt of eternal life instead of the wrath you deserve.
He didn't wait for you to be good enought.
Romans 5:8
And
Romans 8:1 says "There is now NO Condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
And God never makes mistakes.
Jesus died for you.
Why would He not forgive that whioch He has already paid the price for?
If you have repented of your sin, you are to consider them forgiven.
You came to God and asked if He would forgive it your sins.
He has ... and you say you can't forgive it.
You asked for it and now you won't take the gift of forgivness.
Why would you NOT accept it?
You say you already have?
Jesus is your Lord?
Why do you basically ... well.... call Him a liar and say your sin is still not forgien n WHOLE unless you also agree it is?
:)
You can take HIS word for it.
YOur sin is forgiven by the one you sinned against.
Your forgivness if you hinges on whether you believe what Jesus did was enough.
If you believe His work opf salvation of the Cross was complete and sufficient, then there is no cause ofr guilt, only joyful reverece!
And if you do not believe Jesus did these things, or if Jesus work is in some way not enough to redeem you then He is not Lord, and God is not God.
God is perfect. jesus is perfect.
anfd the work of salvation by grace through Jesus, is an absolute truth, perfect and infalible.
Consider these things in prayer to God, ack for His holy Spirit to enable you to under stand all these verse.

Just because Jesus forgives us of our sins, doesn't necesarilly mean that we have forgiven ourselves. I believe that is one battle of the mind that we have to conquer.

Do you know what the word justified and/or justification means?
Act 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
The best way to tell you so that you could understand justification or being justified....it means just as if it never happend.
I don't know how old/young you are...but I'll take it in a legal sense. Say you commit some type of crime...you pay your debt...and later go before a judge, who pardens you, by expunging your record. That means that the record of your crime is wiped clean..no longer there. It's the same way with God. We as sinners have commited a crime (sin) Jeus has paid our debt (Cross) Our record is then expunged (justified- just as if it never happend). So...in God's eyes, once we have asked for forgivness of a sin, God no longer remembers it because the record has been wiped clean.
If God loves us enough to allow Jesus to die a horrible death on a cross so that we can become reconcilled to Him. And if through faith we can accept Jesus as our Lord and saviour. Then we can know that we are justified.

Good morning Joe.
I just wanted to ask, how are you doing with this?
All the answers yu have had are not useful but you have heard from soem strong Christians.
Out of all of it the things to hang on to are
GOD loves you so very much.
He loves you knowing ALL your sin, including what you have not yet done. You have NO secrets from Him and He loves you so much.
You can trust God based on His character and what you have seen Him doing in your life, in others around you, and in the Bible. Therefore, Jesus knew all of who He was going to the cross for. Since He has already paid the debt to redeem you, He has forgiven you when you came to Him to be saved, redeedmed, justified by His blood.
LOL Who are you to say God is wrong and say you can not forgive what He has justified.
If you go to a fast food drive through with a friend or family and the person driving asks what you want, orders it, pays for it and hands it to you, do you say "No... I can't eat it I don't deserve itf" ?
Do you ask for help with a heavy load and then refuse it, saying you don't deserve it, when it comes?
Do you ask for mercy from God and then when He sees your heart and forgoves and goves you His mercy, will you now refuse it when God has chosen to give it?
How much sense does it make to tell God His business?
I know how you feel.
Every Christian here knows how you feel.
Jesus said "I have overcome the world."
Paul wrote "I can do all thing through Him [Christ] Who gives me strength.
And Paul also struggled saying "I do what I don;t want to do!
I don't do what I do want to do." maning that KNOWING what is right he still sinned.
Romans 7
15)I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
16And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.
17As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.
18I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[c (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=52&chapter=7&version=31#fen-NIV-28095c)] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
19For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.
20Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
He mourned his imprisonment to failing flesh that still fell to sinful nature and he cried out
"What a wretched man am i!"
Romans 7:23-25 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=52&chapter=7&verse=23&end_verse=25&version=31&context=context)
23but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. 24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
What you are struggling with may be not that YOU can not forgoive yourself , BUT that you are clinging to guilt of what you have been forgiven and telling Jesus that you are not worthy of His gorgivness.
That is true.
Romans 5:8 says while we were still undeserving sinner, Christ died for us.
But cosider Paul.
He was a Jew.
He was a Hebrew of Hebrews, a Pharisee or Phrisees. raised in Jewsih tradition and one who Stood in approval and held the claoks of those who stoned Steven (see Acts 7 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=acts%207;&version=31;)) and PAul (which is the Greek form of SAUL, set out with letters to persecute, arrest and imprison for execution, followers of Jesus Christ.
If you read Acts you will see his story unfold, and see his struggle, and see his assurace to others "If I who did these things and forgiven, you can be forgiven to. "
And the Father waits to forgive.
If you have asked for oit, repented of your sins and asked to be saved, then you have it.
You can trust it.
You can let go of he boulder that the GUILT of sin is because you have been justifed.
It is as if you committed a crime, and some one else gave all they had to pay your fine and satistfy the demands of the law. Yes you committed the crime, but it is forgiven by7 the paynment of what was owed.
Will you insist on being guilty and going to jail anyway?
Ofcourse not.
You will follow your Savior where ever He goes because He has set you free.
Hold on to all these things.
They are God's precious truth or how veru much He loves you.
You are no longer guilty of anything God has forgiven.
Bring all sin to Him as it comes up in memroy of as you find you have stepped in it again.
Keep your accounts short and your pray list long with God.
Have a blessed day.
And feel free to ask questions.
