Branches
Who are the branches (that shoot forth) from the Tree of Salvation?
Are they not Israel (the first fruits of the faith) thru Abraham?
For Abram was called to leave his country (and dwell in a strange land)
He searched for that city (made without hands) whose builder and maker is God
What Promise was set before him; that he should forsake all (and wander about)?
Was it not promised that (thru his Seed) all nations would be blessed (because of Him)?
Therefore a covenant was established and confirmed (by a seal) which cannot be broken
The seal of God’s faithfulness (for all generations) to the Jew first and then the Gentile
Why (then) would the Jews (who are heirs of the Promise) reject so great an inheritance?
Were they not Esau, who sold the birthright (and forfeited the blessings thereof)?
Yet (because of unbelief) they considered themselves to be above the Promise
And that Promise is Christ (the one true Sacrifice) whose blood stains the altar (of God)
Has God (therefore) cast out His chosen people (and dissolved His covenant)?
Know ye not that He is Lord of the Covenant (and His Word eternal)?
He could not repent (of the promises made) to Abraham (and to his descendants)
For He hath sworn (an oath) by His own Name (because there is none higher to swear by)
How is it (now) that Gentiles have become partakers (of that same Promise)?
Were we not foreigners (to God), unable to obtain the promises (made to Abraham)?
Therefore it is by their (Jews) failure that we are called (to receive of that inheritance)
And (thru faith) we become (spiritual) children of Abraham (and heirs to the Promise)
Were not natural (Jewish) branches broken off and wild (Gentile) branches grafted in?
Did not their rejection lead to our acceptance (and their blindness to our sight)?
Yet, we boast of bearing more fruit (than the natural branches) because of (our) faith
But surely the natural branches (thru obedience) would be more readily grafted in (again)
What shall we say then, are we not all (branches) of that same Tree (of eternal life)?
And if God spared not the natural branches (because of unbelief), will He yet spare us?
But God hath sent His Spirit (as The Root) to supply us with rivers (of Living Water)
Therefore (if any man thirst) let him come and be baptized in the Water of Life (Spirit)
