**Note:
This poem does NOT reflect my own personal feelings. I suppose in a way it does, in that I was inspired to write this after reading some stories in which two lovers were parted by death. Not long after I wrote this, it was commented on by a friend of my family, whose husband had abanded her and their son. So, I decided to dedicate this to her.
YHVH bless,
Elana
Love is Dead
Light is quenched entirely in me,
And to me shall not return.
Love gone, over land, across the sea.
My heart no more with love will burn.
Your hand will not be there
to catch my falling tears,
your voice to call me fair,
your touch to calm my fears.
You have left me broken hearted,
a life bereft of bliss.
My soul is lately haunted
by the memory of your kiss.
My heart is breaking,
soaked with tears long shed,
slowly tearing apart and aching.
Love is dead.

Interesting poem, though very sad. I couldn't imagine living a life of no love. Thank God I have Him and His love in my life.

During the course of our lives here on earth we face numerous situations that can be construed as trials, and as we face these trials we must always remember that Jesus still loves us, even when no one else will. I feel terrible about what happened to your friend of the family because no one should be abandoned, but I'd be even moreso distraught if her being abandoned were to devastate her to the point of feeling that love is dead. Living this life here on earth can be unyielding at times, but that should not in any way be justification for losing faith in the One that gives us life. God tells us that the one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. ( 1 John 4:8 ) So whenever we are feeling down and out we need to not only pray to God and ask for guidance, but to talk with Christians as well who will show them the love of God. Sometimes we can get so lost in our grief that we tend to forget that God is still with us, and that's what the devil likes us to do. There is no greater high for the devil than to cause a Christian to fall. All throughout our lives people come and they go, whether they are acquaintances, friends, husbands, wives, children, etc. etc., and if one of them is separated we seem to forget that it's all a part of God's plan. Whatever your friend does in this life don't let her lose sight of love because of someone's else's view of it, for every one that crosses our path in this life there is a reason and we need to focus on that instead of our own grief. Now, I'm not saying that she should not feel grief for what happened to her and the children, for I'm sure it must have been devastating for them, but what I am saying is that she should not give up on love because of someone who obviously cannot keep his focused. God loves her, and as a child of God I love her as well, as I am sure you do and every one of God's children, so don't lose heart. If I got a little off track here please forgive me, but when someone is talking about love being dead I just have to remind them of God's love for them, and just like how Jesus carried the person in "Footprints in the Sand" He will carry her as well. He carries all of us through the rough times; It's just that many of us have a tendency to lose sight of that when things become hard to bear. So, never let love die, nor should we even suggest that it should, for the absence of love is of the devil, and if he can make you feel that way he will. Go in peace my friend and know that you are a temple of the Holy Spirit. I am now, and will always be, your brother in Christ.
