- Mormons teach that Satan and Christ are brothers, so if Christ is God then logically we must conclude that Satan is God also what a mess that puts us in.

- Mormons have an addition to the bible (the book of mormon) which is in violation of Revelation 22:18-19

- None of the geographical areas spoken of in the book of mormon ever existed.

- Mormons teach that God was once a man who progressively learned how to be God.

- Mormons teach that each of us can progressively learn to be gods and God will make us a god of our own planet

- Mormons believe we are saved by works

The list goes on and on and on. :)

One of the many differences between the two is that mormons don't believe in the trinity, God being three unique persons in one. they believe that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three different roles God plays. However here are a few scriptures that combat that teaching.

Matthew 28
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[c] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.[d] (notice that there is no s at the end of name)

Matthew 3
16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He[c] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are all present at one time. You can't play three different roles at one time.)

The biggest differance is in the belief of the Godhead or trinity. as stated lds church believes that God the father and Jesus are seperate persons with ther own bodies, and the Holy Ghost being a seperate being but without a body. a great example is the baptism of Jesus, God the father voice was heard. and another example is when mary went to touch Jesus after his ressurection, but Jesus stoped her and told her that he had to goto his father, and our father.
We (lds) truly believe that we are Gods chidren, and have the potential to become like him, but not equals, He will always be our God.

just a quick note, we dont believe that works save us. but we do believe that faith and works together will, faith without works is dead. Just as works without faith is dead also.

Exactly as stated they believe works saves us,,as faith itself is also a work 1 Thessalonians 1:3 and 2 Thessalonians 1:11. So whether it is faith AND works or faith OR works it still is works. nice try though

This is a great site for answering questions about Christianity and other religions including the religions that claim to be Christian in nature but actually deny important fundamentals of Christianity.

I think it will help a great deal.
God bless your searching.
