Calvary is approximately 777mtrs above sea level, the sea of all Humanity covered by his blood and his perfect sacrifice. Mt Moriah is on the same mountain side at aproximately 666mtrs above sea level, the attempted sacrifice of Isaac there was withheld and was not acceptable to God. 7 the number of perfection 6 the number of man, imperfection.

Interesting, but not necessarily by divine purpose, due to the following facts:

The present chapter divisions in our Bibles were invented in 1205 by Stephen Langton, a professor in Paris (he later became Archbishop of Canterbury), who put these into a Vulgate edition of the Bible. These chapter divisions were first used by the Jews in 1330 for the Hebrew Old Testament in a manuscript and for a printed edition in 1516. This system of chapter divisions likewise came into the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament during the 1400s. It was Robert Stephanus, a Parisian book printer, whose versification of the Bible has prevailed to the present. He took over the verse divisions already indicated in the Hebrew Bible by the soph pasuq and assigned numbers to them within the chapter divisions already assigned by Stephan Langton.

Which makes it more interesting, in that God's hand seems to still be found in it, even though it was the work of men to do this. After all, all of the word was penned by the hand of who? Men inspired by the Spirit of God. And I cannot disregard the profundity of how this plays out, as it is described. Quite simply, God's providence is evident here, keeping Him from being someone way out there somewhere. I find faith and joy in it.
