Dear Blessed, Catechism is a study in the Catholic religion to assure you come to know their beliefs. I'm not sure if other religions use that term or not. Upon completion of its study, you should be ready for comfirmation if I remember it right. I came out of Catholicism as soon as I started reading the Bible and found it didn't agree with Catholic doctrine. Hopefully you will compare the Bible with everything they tell you. The book of Galations disagreed with nearly everything they said; we are not saved by works of righteousness. The law was only a teacher to lead us to Christ. If anyone tells you anything other than what they told us, let them be accursed, etc. Read it for yourself and weep for those people caught up into that horrible religion.

May God bless and teach you what He has for you in His word for your life, and if you need a starting place, start with the gospel of John and read through to the end of the New Testament to begin with. Then read your Catechism book and throw out the lies you find. Your own Bible will show you enough truth to realize you are saved by belief in Christ, and that not of yourself; it is the gift of God, and not of works they try to throw at you.

There are many other doctrines like praying to Mary, the Immuculant Conception, praying though anyone but Jesus to the Father, Purgatory, and the like that are completely against what the Bible teaches.

Dear Blessed. I don't mean to sound harsh because many in my family are Catholic, and a few of them are saved, but they never come to grow in grace and knowledge of our sweet Savior in that system, let alone ever know of the security we have in Christ.

May God bless you while you seek Him in truth in the precious name of our Savior Jesus Christ - larry

Actually, Purgatory has been done away with b/c of the outcry form fundmentalists about the Cross being the only way to the Father before you die.

I come from the old-fashioned Latin Catholic Masses ( talk about bondage-WHAT the hey are they saying?????)

I agree that the only way to know the Truth is to read it for yourself. Catholics do not encourage it but say only the priests can dicipher it-LIES.

Read the Word for yourself and let it set you FREE! IF Mary is so powerful why did she call Jesus her Savior??

Dear Blessed Be Your Name, you had me concerned, and I'm so glad you explained that. I have to ask though, isn't the Catechism book Catholic? It should be confusing if you know anything about the Bible. Next, why would that be a book assigned unless you attend a Catholic school. Thanks Blessed - larry :)

Okay Blessed-take this test:

1. Did a priest baptize you shortly after your birth by pouring water over your head and waking you up from a perfectly good sleep?

2. Did you wear a pretty mini wedding dress [with veil, pantent leather shoes, frilly socks and white gloves]for a communion @ age 7?

3. Did a bishop slap you on the cheek @ age 13 and ask you for your confirmation name? [Just before you wanted to slap him back?]

4. Do you feel guilty for just about everything even if it has nothing to do with you?

5. Do you eat only fish for meat on Fridays even though you're not sure why?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions and some not even asked just to make sure you're going to heaven---

You just might be a Catholic!
